Part2ism works with a huge range of different media from spray paint, wax crayon, ink, emulsion, PVA to photocopies on cardboard and canvas, transforming the ever changing boundaries of modern street art. Recent work by Part2ism (real name Keith Hopewell) includes his own hypertype letter designs which are cut from repossessed cardboard, painted and then displayed in the public domain in major cities of the world giving the public access to download his work for free. Hopewell recycled his public orientated work in an edition of collage work for The Leonard Street Gallery and has recently completed a series of recreated collage work on canvas to similar effect. Maintaining the reclaimed feel of cardboard, Part2ism’s current work takes him back to his beginnings as a spray can artist who was fundamental in pioneering the photorealism style in the late 80’s. His early freehand aerosol portraits inspired the world over from New York’s mural kings, Germany’s Mac cru to Connor Harrington.
