Ryan McGinness

Known for his original extensive vocabulary of graphic drawings which use the visual language of public signage, corporate logos, and contemporary iconography, Ryan McGinness creates paintings, prints, sculptures, and environments. McGinness’ work is an unusual marriage of abstraction and representation. His slick, colourful paintings and prints consist of layers of images tidily clustered into baroque compositions. Ryan McGinness has shown widely, with solo exhibitions in New York, Milan, Amsterdam, Paris, Madrid and Toronto. His work is held in several important public and private collections, including Museum of Modern Art, New York, Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo, and the Charles Saatchi Collection.
