The London Police

The London Police began in 1998, in Amsterdam, when three big English geezers made it their mission to start rejuvenating the visually disappointing streets of the drug capital of the world. Here, their characters known simply as ‘LADS’ soon held an iconic presence in the city. With their distinctive imagery and simple graphics, TLP’s work can be seen on city streets across the world. Developing from a home grown project back in 1998, The London Police has become an internationally recognized and respected street-art ‘brand’. Saying that their purpose and interest lies in putting up art in cities for the public to see and using public spaces as art galleries, since 2002, TLP has been sending missionaries into all corners of the globe and now there are LADS on the streets and in shows in a whole host of cities like London, Brussels, Barcelona, Berlin, Milan, New York, L.A, Tokyo and beyond. London Policemen have come and gone but founding members are still known to walk the streets of every city in the world, spreading love through pens and stickers. Never be scared. Don’t be a hero.
