Paul Kenny: Seaworks:Blueworks

Eschewing traditional photography Paul Kenny uses materials as diverse as seawater, glass plates, discarded plastic bottles and household bleach to create photographs that recall lunar landscapes and the night sky. The roots of Kenny’s work lie in repeated visits to remote beaches and almost ritual visits to specific sites. The resulting photographs are infused with fragility, beauty and transience. Kenny’s work has been collected by Andy Goldsworthy, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs and the National Gallery of Scotland, and he has exhibited extensively in the UK. The artist currently lives and works in Northumberland.
