Abigail Fallis studied silversmithing and metalwork at Camberwell College of Arts, and with Damien Hirst as her mentor and patron, this artist promises to go far. Fallis works with a variety of media, perhaps the strangest being fish skeletons, the basis for her unique bronze and silver coated sculptures. The beauty of her work is combined with a subtle comment on man's meddling with nature.
Yet, Fallis' work is not without humour - amongst her works in this exhibition are the wittily entitled 'In Cod we Trust' and 'Only Here for the Halibut'. However, with more serious concerns for the declining numbers of the fish species due to over consumption, Fallis has forged an active relationship with Greenpeace.
