This month, Opus welcomes Brighton based artist Dan Baldwin to the gallery. Baldwin's mixed media canvases - featuring spraypaint, emulsion, bullets, guns and real butterflies - are inspired by death, Vanitas and religion. Baldwin intertwines these motifs with elements from politics and culture, and by presenting these opposing elements in pop candy colours both attracts and uneases the viewer.
In 2005, Baldwin featured alongside fellow Opus artists Rob Carter and Lucie Bennett in the acclaimed BBC television series 'The Apprentice'. He has also had work auctioned for charity alongside that of Peter Blake, Billy Childish and Tracey Emin. With Baldwin's impressive CV and his iconic artwork, Opus is proud to host this exciting solo exhibition.
